Community project

OpenParcelBox needs you.

This is not a finished product and not a vendor platform. It is an open effort to make parcel access repairable, local-first, carrier-neutral and understandable.

OpenParcelBox needs you: makers, coders and idea people help build a free parcel box solution

How to help

Every useful input counts.

Retrofit stories

Show existing parcel boxes, locks, garages, cabinets and weird real-world constraints.

Hardware notes

Share lock modules, keypads, Wiegand readers, sensors, power ideas and safe wiring patterns.

Software ideas

Help shape firmware, bridge APIs, MQTT, Home Assistant, HomeMatic and future adapter concepts.

Standards and policy

Research parcel-box standards, carrier workflows, privacy risks and what open interoperability should mean.

Ground rule

Open means useful without permission.

OpenParcelBox must keep a local basic function. Cloud services, smart-home systems and carrier integrations can add comfort, but they must not become a requirement.

Invitation

Bring code, photos, tests, doubts and better ideas.

The project needs practical experience as much as technical design: failed locks, confusing delivery instructions, good retrofit examples, standards research and honest security criticism.
